About
Ebony And Ivory Roses' was founded at Campbell Middle School in Daytona Beach, Florida in the early ’90s by two teachers, Ms. Boysie Smith and Ms. Rosemary Still. The primary objective of Ebony and Ivory Roses was to promote self-discipline, self-confidence, self-respect, Self-esteem, character, citizenship, pride, leadership, and academic excellence.
“If your mind can conceive it, and your heart can believe it, then you can achieve it.”
After working with many young girls at Ephesus Junior Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, the principal who was a former member of Ebony and Ivory Roses at Campbell Middle School in the 7th and 8th grades, remembered how she developed self-confidence and saw a need to encourage and motivate the girls enrolled at EJA.
In 2018, Joyceline Poole-Dudley implemented Ebony and Ivory Roses. The young ladies in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th meet weekly and engage in not only self-motivation activities but community service as well.
